How the calculation works

  1. Variables: L = box length, W = box width, H = box height, B = bow length, C = custom base length, and Q = quantity.

  2. Single Wrap: 2W + 2H + B.

  3. Cross Wrap: 2L + 2W + 4H + B.

  4. Diagonal Wrap: 4√((L/3)² + (W/3)²) + 2√((L/3)² + H²) + 2√((W/3)² + H²) + B.

  5. Custom Length: C + B.

  6. Total Ribbon Needed: Per-box ribbon × Q × (1 + Extra Length ÷ 100). Extra Length can be set to 0%, 15%, or 30%.

  7. When Bow Style is set to None, B equals 0. When Custom is selected, B uses the bow length entered by the user.

  8. All dimensions are calculated using the selected unit. Final results are converted to yards or meters and rounded to one decimal place. Actual ribbon usage may vary depending on tying technique, tail length, and desired appearance.
